About our donation activities:
When the pandemic started in China, our hometown, we helped our family overseas fight against the COVID-19. When the battlefield shifted to the front door of our home in America, we, too, are fighting along with everyone in Kentucky. Many Chinese people have donated both money and personal protective equipment individually in response to both local and national calls. Led by the Association of Chinese Americans in Kentuckiana (ACAK) and Kentuckiana Chinese School (KCS), the Kentuckiana Chinese community has collectively raised about $12000 within two weeks (from 3/27/2020 to 4/12/2020). With this money, we have purchased 64000 pieces of nitrile gloves and 3500 pieces of disposable face masks. Plus $3000 from the donations we raised early this year for the New Year Celebration event (which was canceled due to the pandemic) and Supporting Wuhan, we have made a contribution of $7900 to ONE LOUISVILLE: COVID-19 RESPONSE FUND. With the coordination of Councilwoman Keshia Dorsey, we delivered the 64000 pieces of nitrile gloves and 3500 pieces of disposable face masks to the Great Louisville Metro on 4/30/2020. This donation is not a lot, but we hope that the Metro Office can help us distribute it to as many people as possible.
